President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed governors for five states and lieutenant governor for one Union Territory.
Banwarilal Purohit, currently governor of Assam, has been appointed for Tamil Nadu. Jagdish Mukhi, will be replacing Purohit in Assam, while Admiral(Retd) Devendra Kumar Joshi will be taking over Mukhi’s current post as Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The President has also appointed Brig. (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) for Arunachal Pradesh, Satya Pal Malik for Bihar and Ganga Prasad for Meghalaya.
