The historic Bhopal Declaration was adopted at the 11th BRICS Culture Ministers’ Meeting held in Bhopal from 5 to 8 August 2026. More than 100 delegates from 10 countries participated in the four-day event, which covered topics such as cultural cooperation, copyright protection in AI systems, and visits to heritage sites like Sanchi-Bhimbetka.Key points and scheduleBhopal Declaration: Agreed on strengthening cultural cooperation, provenance research and AI-enabled tracing tools.Key proposals: A shared digital platform for artists and a joint UNESCO nomination were emphasized.Cultural Tours: The foreign guests visited Sanchi Stupa, Van Vihar and the ancient rock shelters of Bhimbetka.Traditional Dinner: Guests were served traditional Madhya Pradesh dishes like Dal-Bafle and Millet dishes.
